After a long tiring day, I really look forward to doing my meditation. It helps me unwind, relax and transition into peaceful rest. This meditation/zen music is one of my favorites. Enjoy!

--------- Today I wanted to highlight a very special friend of mine. We are all born with a special tool that is always in the present moment. Can you guess what it is? It’s …............... our breath! It’s going on continuously whether we know it or not. Simply becoming aware of it can help us come back to the present. Here’s a simple technique called ‘The Baby’s Breath’ for you to try: Sit in a comfortable position, & allow a gentle smile to come across your face. Start observing your breath and relax. Then begin this pattern: inhale and expand your belly, and then exhale and contract it. Repeat this for a couple moments, minutes, or as long as you want. Remember to love and accept your breath as it is. Your breath is always with you no matter what, through thick and thin. Make your breath your best friend. :) I use the Baby’s breath throughout the day when I find myself getting lost in past/future thoughts. What I like to do is take short time-outs. Sometimes when I’m not able to focus in class I simply bring my attention to my breathing, do a couple Baby's breaths, & it works like magic! You can do it with eyes open, eyes closed, anywhere & everywhere. Yoga and meditation use the breath to align ourselves in the present. I will expand on these topics later, but for now, Happy Breathing :) Try out the Baby's Breath, do it with friends or do it alone, and comment below if you would like to share your experience! ------ Today I want to share with you the key to unlock your true self: Meditation! In meditation we rest our body & mind, and turn our focus within. We begin moving inwards and drop any external stimulations and blabbering thoughts. It's a simple process of letting go, relaxing, and just being with yourself. It is the art of doing nothing. :) Our true self is happiness, positive energy, peace, love, and bliss. We just need to uncover that potential, and meditation helps us connect to it like none other. I could honestly go on and on about the benefits of meditation: It can help you de-stress, be more present-minded, feel calm, feel empowered, restore your health, and be more joyous. It can make it easier for you to tap into your inner peace, that inner light, that inner wisdom, so that you can discover the true beauty of life. Also, a few minutes of meditation can be equivalent to a few hours of sleep! I personally have gained so much by making meditation a part of my daily life, and it has become one of my absolute favorite pastimes. I really believe that if everyone in the world did a couple minutes of meditation, the peace and happiness on our planet could be raised tremendously! So I encourage you all to take some time out for yourself, give meditation a try, and see how you feel! Even as little as 5 minutes a day is good. You can meditate wherever you feel comfortable, and you can do it alone or listen to a guided recording. There are many many different meditations available on the web and on youtube, & you can choose one that suits you. Here's one of my favorites: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yEc1a3hLW1A -- Take a challenge and tell at least 1 friend or family member today about meditation! Spread the love, and watch as your inner and outer worlds beautify. Feel free to ask any questions you may have below, and I will answer based on my understanding/experience! Happy meditating :) |
